OIL-FILLED COLUMN HEATERSOil-filled column heaters use electricity to heat the oil that's sealed inside their columns or fins, usually combining thermostats, timers and different heat settings for added convenience. Although taking longer to heat a room, column heaters are particularly useful where they'll be switched on for long periods of time or where they'll operate unattended, such as overnight in a bedroom. Oil column heaters are a safer option, with the surfaces not becoming as hot as on other types of electric heaters. Additional features include a 24-hour timer, energy saving thermostat, safety tilt switch and different heat settings. Dragon and Rapido oil column heaters both use similar technology, combining a larger radiating surface with the speed of hot air convection to create a more rapid emission of warm air into a room. |
