The Canon 470EX AI is the world?s first flash equipped with AI Bounce that does the thinking for you. AI Bounce or Auto Intelligent bounce, calculates and moves the flash head automatically to optimize lighting angles for outstanding images. Direct flash can cause harsh lighting and shadows behind your subject. Bouncing flash off ceilings or walls delivers softer, more evenly distributed light. In full auto mode, the 470EX-AI finds the optimal bounce angle and the flash head will automatically move to the optimal position. In semi auto mode, the flash head will automatically correct bounce angle as you move between horizontal and vertical shooting
